This is my personal blog. I did not commit to post at least daily, or weekly, or even monthly. It has been going now since late 2006 and there are only a few posts.
I post when something catches my attention that makes me think, or situations in life cause me to slow down and reflect. It has been headlines, advertisements, death, music, movies, coworkers . . . you get the picture. I have mostly kept politics and religion out of here. I have separate blogs for those.
I like to think of this as the occasional wisdom that comes from my easy chair as I stop and contemplate the day. Some of it is a little funny. Some is sarcastic. Some is (I hope) insightful. And some is personally reflective.
As you can see by my byline, I have uncertainty about what I think. Don’t get me wrong. I think I like what I think. And I think I am right. If I didn’t, I would change my mind. But I am open to reconsider. If you think I should, then add a comment to the appropriate post. I won't just push back.
I am a native of Dallas, actually born to Dallasites. Married with two grown boys. I am Christian, both in culture and belief.
The Meyers-Briggs personality profile test labels me as an INTP. Read up on it. It fits me pretty well. That personality is well suited for my role as a shade-tree philosopher.
My politics are conservative, but I believe in compassionate conservatism even if W really didn't.
My hobbies includes surfing the internet, playing the guitar (which I do somewhat poorly), watching crime drama reruns, and doing a little writing.
